Feng Chia Night Market 逢甲夜市

The Feng Chia Night Market (逢甲夜市) was established in 1963  and is  Taichung’s largest and most popular night market; For many it is probably even Taiwan’s most favorite market that was once established along Wen-hua road , then expanded to Fengjia road (逢甲路), Fushin road(福星路), Xian street(西安街) etc.The area provides an assortment of shops to browse through which have Food/drink stands, clothing stores, restaurants, games to play and most notably, lots of snacks to please any palate. Fengjia Night Market has tied with Keelung’s Miaokou Night Market for first place , in terms of taste in a competition judged by a committee organized by the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan.

Near Feng Chia University

The Fengjia Night Market is centered around now Feng Chia University. As you approach the university gate, the market shoots off to the streets and alleys on both sides. The gate is the “center” of the market.

Feng Chia Night Market Is Open Nightly

The night market usually bustling  around 7:00pm and winds to a close around 1:00 am. Many of the main stores in the area open around 2:00 pm. The area is usually very busy especially on weekends. Many of the patrons are University students and hordes from tour bus. As Taiwanese people in Taiwan get off their busy work week, they love to spend the evening eating and shopping there.
