Camping at Samaji Campground on Xiao Liu Qiu

Many visitors stay the night on Xiao Liu Qiu. There are two options. 1 is to book many of the B&Bs  or “Minsu” on the island. The other is to camp. The largest and nicest camping spot is the Samaji Campground.

Samaji is located at the eastern portion of the island facing the mainland. There are camping spots and little villas to rent.

Prices for a tent are 200 for weekdays and 300 for weekends. Add 100 NT extra is you want breakfast. Samaji will provide you a tent and sleeping bag, but you need to pitch the tent yourself.

There is a website and  Facebook page for Samaji. See below. However, the site is only in Chinese. There are many kinds of rooms and packages ranging from 2700NT to 6000NT for bigger villas. You also need to wire an ATM deposit as well. All the information is clear on the website, but if no one can help you translate, just send them a simple emal message as to what you want.

Below is the Star Moon Villa. http://www.msvilla.com.tw They have many nice rooms from 6000NT to 12000NT per night plus breakfast.

Below is a Minsu that is along the road around the island. It is in a quiet area with a nice view. There are a few of these around or currently being built.

It is easy to book a Minsu on the island. The only catch is that you need to speak Chinese as none of the websites have much English. Below are a few hotel websites as well as websites that have many different choices of places to stay.
