Nestled in the mountains about 2-3 drive from Hsinchu City is the beautifu Shei Pa (Shuiba) Leisure Farm Resort.
The resort is built on a lush mountainside 5km below the well known Guang Wu Forest Park. Visitors to the farm can enjoy great mountain views, forest hikes, clean, cool air and fresh blueberries and kiwis which are grown on the farm.
Upon taking the mountain road (Route 122) (see below for directions) for 60 km, drivers will come to a big sign directing them down the country road to the resort.
The resort is located in the central/northern mountains due east of Hsinchu City.
The hotel has a large building that holds many hotel style rooms. The lobby is located here. Some rooms face to the outside, but some do not have windows or face into walls that are part of the foundation.
Another room option is to rent a wooden cabin. These rooms have nice views and their own entrance. Each house has 2 adjacent rooms.
Another major area of the resort is the dining hall. On the 2nd floor, visitors can buy some local produce from the farm, go to lectures about the area, or have tea, coffee, and cakes throughout the day.
This picture shows the coffee/tea bar on the 2nd floor.
Probably one of the nicest parts of the resort is the large viewing deck off the back of the dining hall. The views are outstanding and it's a great place for afternoon or a nice drink in the early evening.
Picnic tables line the viewing deck where visitors can have afternoon tea and enjoy the great views.
The viewing desk faces the a valley with beautiful scenery.
The bottom level of the dining hall serves a Chinese style buffet breakfast and dinner. There is also a western food dining hall that serves dinner only. Visitors must make a reservation for this set meal.
Blueberries are a major crop grown on the farm. Visitors can buy fresh blueberries, blueberry jam, blueberry wine, and blueberry juice.
Kiwis are also grown on the farm but only during a short period of the year.
The grounds of the resort have a nice garden area. There are many walking paths and quiet places to sit and relax.
Above is a view of a portion of the walking garden.
The resort has also blazed a walking trail throughout the woods surrounding the resort. The walk is quite easy and takes about 45 minutes to finish.
Need a walking stick? Just grab a natural one from the bin at the trail entrance.
No need to worry about getting lost on the trail. There are many trees that are numbered and point you in the correct direction. The walk is a circuit and ends where it starts.
There are some great old trees along the forest trail.

Bat houses hang from many trees around the grounds.
No need to worry about getting lost at the resort. There is a map near the dining hall, and the grounds are not too big.
When you are driving up Route 122, you will come to a police check point. This is the entrance to the Shui Ba National Park. Visitors just need to go to the booth with the police officer and register.
The police check point is at the 50km marker of Route 122.
If you continue up Route 122, past the resort, you will come to the Guang Wu Forest Park. It's about 6.5 km away. The forest park is beautiful and there are many walks and hikes for visitors to go on.
