When visiting the town of Jiufen, you shouldn’t miss the Jiufen (Chiufen) Teahouse. The Jiufen Teahouse was opened in 1991 and replicates an old wooden house located at the top level of Jiufen. There are great views and it’s a fun way to learn and enjoy how to make Taiwan tea in a traditional way.
The decor of the Jiufen Teahouse is very unique. It is a wooden structure filled with antique wooden furniture for patrons to sit. There is also a shop area where you can buy tea and pottery.
Below, the front entrance to the Jiufen Teahouse.
The tea at the Jiufen Teahouse is mostly of the oolong variety and grown in Taiwan. It’s all loose leaf and if you don’t know how to brew this kind of tea, the staff will teach you.
There is tea on sale at the front of the teahouse, but when you order your tea, you will get a bag of the amount you order as well.
Sitting outside at the teahouse, you can enjoy a few hours sipping tea and admiring the views.
