Miaoli is one of the most important tourist destinations of central Taiwan featuring some great Taiwan attractions. Towered by mountains on its side, Miaoli is a picturesque and very popular for it's Cherry blossoms.

Archeological research shows that there were already  people living in Miaoli in the prehistoric era. An indigenous group of Taiwanese called   "Taokas" who settled here about a 1000 years ago. Starting from the mid-seventeenth century, Han people gradually settled in Miaoli. This popular city offers a number of activities and things to do to its visitors who visit the  tourist attractions and places to go for  tourists.

 Many archeological evidence have been discovered to support this fact. In the prehistoric era, people lived in the river terrace. They mainly led an agricultural life and engaged in hunting and fishing for extra food sources. The aboriginal name of Miaoli is "Maoli", which refers to plateau in Taokas

Shangrila Recreational Park Taiwan Attraction:

The Shangrila Recreational Park is a huge amusement park equipped with every possible recreational facility for its visitors. The park has a miniature village that showcases the Hakka culture with old Hakka style buildings and wax sculptures and serves an authentic Hakka cuisine. There is a well maintained European garden, a cascading fountain, and a restaurant that has accommodations for about 1000 diners. The park also has facilities for barbeques and camping, and is thus a popular venue for school excursions. Shangrila Recreational Park is becoming a famous Taiwan attraction. 

 

Sanyi Village Taiwan Attraction:

 

The Sanyi Village in the southern part of Miaoli is a quiet village specializing in wood carvings. Carving wonderful shapes out of camphor wood, the village still preserves a century old tradition. Showcasing beautiful pieces crafted as furniture or decorative pieces, the village is a place worth visiting. The Sanyi Wood carving Museum holds up the different trends of this ancient handicraft in Taiwan. Sanyi Village  is quickly becoming a famous Taiwan attraction.

 

Lion’s Head Mountain Taiwan Attraction:

The Lions Head Mountain is  shaped like a lion’s head on  the northern face of the mountain. The rock formations resemble a lion’s head.

Lions Head Mountain’s fame as a popular Taiwan tourist attraction goes back to the times of Cing Dynasty, when the ancient caves and temples of the place were considered amongst the 12 most enchanting places to visit in Taiwan. Lion’s Head Mountain area was established as a provincial area in 1993

Lions Head Mountain covers the towns of Beipu, Emei, and Jhudong in Hsinchu County and Sanwan and Nanjhuang in Miaoli County.
      Apart from its beauty which supersedes all descriptions, Lions Head Mountain is also known to be a peaceful Buddhist retreat.. It is magnificant to see  and is probably the most popular  tourist attraction of Miaoli. The monument is one of the oldest temples of Taiwan, and stands as a wonderful specimen of ancient architecture. The towering mountain is lush with vegetation and strewn with the monasteries which also provide lodgings for its visitors. The century old Yuanguang Temple draws in a large crowd of worshipers each year. Lion's Head Mountain is quickly becoming a famous Taiwan attraction.
