Yong Kang Street Taipei in the Daan District has always been famous for its mango ice and street snacks. Now with the extended MRT Red Line stop, Yong Kang Street has become easily accesible for everyone and is back on the map as a must do in Taipei for food.

After arriving at the Dong Men 東門 station on the MRT Red Line, follow the signs for Exit 5 to the street level and Yong Kang Street. Immediately visitors will notice the long line for the original location of the famous Ding Tai Fung dumpling restaurant.

Make your way down narrow street and take in all there is to offer. Great noodle shops, boutique shops, and the famous mango ice stands which made this street famous.

Alley 10 has a famous “handcut” noodle shop called Yong Kang Hand Cut Noodles

There are several alleys on either side of the street with tea shops and restaurants. Mid-way down Yong Kang is a small park that usually has small events on the weekends. It is a nice respite on a hot summer day.

There are plenty of street snacks to sample if you don’t want a sit down meal.

Yong Kang Street is a great place to stop and grab some food and walk around while visiting Taipei City.
