Ximending Shopping Area – Taipei City 2 西門町
During the week, Ximending is not quite as busy and there is lots of space to move around. However, Friday nights, weekends, and holidays are always bustling.
Ofcourse,there are lots of food choices.
Some are stands serving grilled Taiwanese or Japanese style snacks.
Others are proper restaurants.

The traditional Taiwanese snack stalls start arriving in the afternoon.
One section of Ximending, near the big traffic circle, is the beginning of Hong Kong Street.
Hong Kong street is a narrow and winding alley that is full of residences, shops, and restaurants.
Ximending is also a popular place to see a movie. Weekends are busy with big lines. There are several theaters.
There is even an IMAX theater at one location.
There is an eslite Mall to walk through as well as an Eslite Bookstore which is a popular place for people to just hang out.
Below is an old shop selling rice cakes. It is about 100 meters from the traffic circle down Han Kou Street.
Another old Taipei landmark on Han Kou Street is old temple with a lot of character.
