Seven Stars Peak hike on Yangmingshan-Miaopu Trail-Page 2
Continuing from PAGE 1, you should now be at a small plateau on your final stretch to reach the east and main peaks of Mt. Qixing (Seven Stars).
The path continues for a few minutes like this and then you will come to a 3 way intersection.
Clearly Marked Trails
The signs are marked very clearly. You have already walked 2.27 km (mostly up) from the Miaopu Trailhead. Quite a workout. The Mt. Qixing East Peak is on your right and you can see Mt. Qixing Main Peak on the left. Head towards the east peak first.
Below is the east peak. It is only 150 meters away and the route is very clear. There is a short uphill portion.
Stairs up to Mt.Qixing East Peak.
The final approach to the east peak.
You made it to the top. On clear days you can see Taipei City below and the north coast towards the north. Look west, and you will see the main peak which is where you are going.
Below, a picture of the main peak as seen from the east peak.
Make your way back down the trail. When you get to the intersection, follow the sign towards the main peak.
The Peak
The main peak is also a short uphill. As you rise, the peak flattens and great views of the west, south, north, and Taipei City come into focus. On a totally clear day, the ocean is visible.
There is a flat platform to hang out on, drink some water, eat some snacks, and enjoy the fresh air and views.
Below, a view of the east peak.
The Taipei basin.
Amazing Views of Taipei City
A view of Taipei City. Look clearly, and you can see the Taipei 101 building in the distance. It’s time to go down now….how do we do it?
