Police Permits for Hiking in Taiwan-How to Apply Page 2

…and you should see your trail. Now you want to click on the item in the search results and then click on the top red button:

Police Mountain Permit Application Taiwan

…which will move your destination over into the selected items box:

Police Mountain Permit Application Taiwan

Now you can click on the black and white X at the top right of this dialog box and you should now see your trail option on the main application page, like this:

Police Mountain Permit Application Taiwan

Now you want to click on the menu indicated below, and select the first option available.

Police Mountain Permit Application Taiwan

This should automatically choose the second menu’s value for you and fill in the text box:

Police Mountain Permit Application Taiwan

Note that what you’re doing here is telling them you’re using the indicated map on your trip. You probably won’t have that exact map on your trip, but do take a map of some form.

The next box is for your planned itinerary. Hopefully you can just copy and paste this from a good guide article, such as the ones on this website. It will look something like this:

Police Mountain Permit Application Taiwan

If you don’t have an itinerary in Chinese, by all means try typing it in English and who knows, it might actually pass. It’s hard to know how carefully these applications are inspected or how good that person’s English is, so it’s worth a shot. Next is the team member list, so click on the red button below and then click on OK:

Police Mountain Permit Application Taiwan

Now you should have another pop-up dialog box that looks something like this:

Police Mountain Permit Application Taiwan

This is where you will enter detailed information for each individual. Starting with the group leader, presumably yourself, enter information as follows:

Police Mountain Permit Application Taiwan

*1 Surname Name.

*2 Choose “foreigner” 外國人 and then enter your ARC or passport number, as before.

*3 Phone number.

*4 Address.

*5 More Chinese character fun. 男 for Male, 女 for Female.

*6 Make sure the second option is selected, then enter your birthdate as YYYYMMDD.

*7 Click on the blue button at the bottom 新增.

EnglishInTaiwan.com

EIT began more than 12 years ago as a resource for expats in Taiwan, Teaching English, and just Living in Taiwan in general.

We've continued to develop home-grown information about Teaching ESL/EFL, local business resources, cultural and travel info and tips, places to eat, drink, and shop.

Hopefully you'll get more out of your stay.
