Trail Map for Erziping

Wheel Chair Accessible Trails

Erziping is the first wheel-chair accessible trail in Taiwan. The path through the park is wide and easy to navigate for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages.

Getting to Erziping Recreation Area

The park entrance is next to the parking lot (there are several in the area). If you’re driving, keep in mind that on a nice days (especially weekends/holidays) the parking lots fill up quickly so the best plan is to drive up early or take a bus from Taipei (there’s a shuttle bus #108 that heads up Yangmingshan all day. You can catch the bus from Zhishan, Shipai, or Mingde Red line MRT stops. Check the schedule online for exact times.

Wildlife on Yangmingshan

Taiwan’s national bird – the Blue Magpie, can be sighted around the park areas.

Wide walkway throughout the park.

Erziping Recreation Area

The Erziping Recreation Areas/Park (about an hr’s walk from the Erziping visitor’s center, parking lot/bus stop). This area is known for its chorus of frogs chirping away from the ponds in the basin between Erziping and Mt. Datun.

Even on the busiest of days you’ll find Erziping trail a refreshing getaway from the noisy streets of Taipei. It’s well worth the trip. Take a backpack with snacks and enjoy the recreation area at the end of the hike. It’s a short easy hike near Taipei.

One thing to note, the weather on the mountain can change rapidly, and is often quite different from Taipei. Be sure to bring a sweatshirt or light jacket plus a small umbrella. Temperatures on Yangmingshan, especially in winder and spring/fall are often 10 to 15 degrees cooler than in town.
