Every city in Taiwan boasts its fair share of bread bakeries. They pop up everywhere, and many Taiwanese are in the habit of buying some type of bread for an after school/work snack before dinner. Most of these bread bakeries have sweet types of buns and rolls, and are made with bleached white flour.
However, there are several choices of bakeries that specialize in hearty, natural breads made from fresh ingredients.
