|Age Group:||All Ages|
|Goal of Lesson:||Students learn vocabulary from flashcards|
|Time Needed:||15-20 minutes|
|Materials Needed:||flashcards you are using in your class|
This game is excellent for rehearsing flashcards without a sentence pattern.
Put all the flashcards on the board. Count up the number and divide by two. Under each flash card write a
number. You will use each number two times. Students must guess the matching pairs of numbers by saying
the word on the flashcard correctly with good pronunciation. Mistakes means you lose your turn. Can be
played in teams or as individuals. Do not allow students to point.
Depending on the teacher’s preference, in teams you may allow students to help their teammates. It’s a sneaky
way to encourage repetition and helping behavior without ‘forcing’ it. For weaker or younger students, you can
write the numbers first before putting up the flashcards in order to speed things along.
For advanced students: Have the students ask a question when they can guess. "Is it number 2 and number 4?" etc.
