Dialogue & Conversation Line Speaking Game

Dialogue & Conversation Line Speaking Game

Age Group: All Ages
Subject: Dialogues
Goal of Lesson: Students practice asking questions and giving answers with each other.
Time Needed: 10-20 minutes
Materials Needed: A dice if you want to make it a game.

This dialogue activity/game works well with a class of students at any age or level.

  1. Divide your class into 2 groups and line them up on each side of the room. The student's should be facing the back of the student in front them..etc.
  2. Give the last student a dice. Big dice is better than a small one.
  3. Tell the first person seated in the line the question they must ask the person behind them. Say go.
  4. As fast as possible, the first student turns around and asks the student behind him the question. Then that student answers the question.
  5. The student who answers then turns around to ask the student behind them the same question. That student answers and then turns around to ask....
  6. The last student, who holds the dice, answers the question and throws the dice. The amount on the dice is the amount of points that team gets.

A) the two teams play the game at the same time. The first team to finish the line and then roll the dice gets the points. The slower team gets no points.

B) The students can be told to ask a different variety of questions for more challenge and not the same question.

C) This doesn't have to be a game. It can also be a fun and challenging activity.

--As the students play, the teacher should be listening for mistakes and good pronunciation and correcting on the spot. Many mistakes slows down the team, so students will be more careful.
