Phonics Guessing Game/Writing自然發音-猜測-寫字遊戲

Age Group: Elementary
Subject: Phonics
Goal of Lesson: Students practice spelling and listening for their phonics words.
Time Needed: 20 minutes
Materials Needed: list of phonics words and a white/blackboard

This game is fun because students have to guess and maybe spell many phonics words before they get the answers.

Here is how to play:

  • separate the class into 2 teams

  • 1 student from each team then comes up to the whitboard with a marker in hand

  • The teacher says an ending from the phonics the students have learned .Eg. -et

  • The students must then think of an -et word they have learned and then write it on the board.

  • The students are guessing, so after they write a word, the teacher can say "Yes" or "No"

  • The first student to guess and write the word correctly is the winner.

  • The winning team gets a point and 2 new students come up to play

NOTE: This game works great when you have learned a lot of phonics. Then there are many words to choose from and the students must think a lot.
